SAS IT Infrastructure Engineering is a dynamic environment where we design, support and automate IT infrastructure.  Are you a creative problem solver?  Do you have a desire to be challenged and continue to learn?  If so, the SAS IT Infrastructure Engineering team would like to talk to you.  We are seeking an entry level engineer with a self-starter attitude that has the desire to learn many technologies. 

 

As an Information Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to develop and automate IT infrastructure processes, and help support, design and implement IT infrastructure solutions.  This position requires a diverse set of technical skills in automation, virtualization, Linux systems administration and networking. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with team of engineers to develop and maintain server infrastructure for production SAS environments, SAS R&D development teams and build environments
  • Assess technical problems
  • Utilize diverse set of systems administration and programming skills to build and manage automated systems
  • Work closely with R&D and IT Service Management Office to assist in developing solutions that align with corporate R&D business objectives
  • Participate in monthly scheduled maintenance tasks
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Linux systems administration skills
  • Experience with one or more programming / scripting languages (Python, Bash, Perl)
  • Ability to work closely with our internal SAS customers
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts including virtualization
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Willing to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation

Preferred

  • Knowledge of server/storage hardware and protocols including NFS
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Puppet, Ansible)
  • Experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi
  • Experience with OpenStack
  • Knowledge of CI process and tools (Jenkins)
