SAS IT is seeking an Information Systems Engineer to be an integral part of a team responsible for the design and support of enterprise class internal and external web services and related technologies. This position involves working closely with business customers, development teams and infrastructure providers using Continuous Delivery practices. Ideal candidates will have a positive attitude, passion for technology, and expert-level system design and support skills. Customer focus, good judgment, attention to detail and quality are critical elements to success in this role. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a DevOps model playing an active role with software developers in building solutions.


Dependent upon qualifications, the successful candidate will participate in: support of a complex web infrastructure environment; development and implementation of comprehensive and integrated enterprise single sign-on in a heterogeneous environment.


Primary responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and maintain core web services and related technology.
  • Understand and be able to adopt to next generation of web applications, databases, and scalable architecture.
  • Input on redesign of existing systems to improve scalability and performance.
  • Design, implement and maintain automation services in support of Continuous Delivery.
  • Manages multiple and sometimes competing priorities.
  • Participate in a 24/7 oncall rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar quantitative field.
  • 2-5 years experience supporting an environment essential to the design and deployment of enterprise applications.
  • Enterprise level Linux (any distribution) skills with experience supporting an application development environment.
  • Experience developing or supporting an infrastructure for mission-critical services.
  • Familiarity with fundamental networking and distributed computing environment concepts.
  • Automation and scripting experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure.
  • Associate’s degree in a related field plus an additional 2 years of the stated essential experience -OR-High School Diploma (GED) plus an additional 4 years of the stated essential experience


  • Working knowledge of multiple operating systems.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time across multiple projects.
  • Experience supporting an environment essential to the design and deployment of web applications.
  • Experience with Identity Management, ie. (OpenAM, OpenSSO, AD, LDAP, SAML, or related technologies).
  • Experience managing high volume web sites.
  • Familiarity with Adobe AEM or other Web CMS.
  • Experience with Web Server (Apache, NGINX) configuration and administration.
  • Experience with Web Application containers.
  • Experience with Shell, Python, Perl, or other scripting languages.
  • Experience with Git, CVS, or Subversion.
  • Experience with monitoring and configuration management tools.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server and IIS.
  • Ability to effectively communicate designs and decisions to peers, customers, and management.
  • Understanding of SAS products and technologies.
