    As a Government Fraud Solutions Specialist, you will act as a subject matter expert in the area of improper payments, abuse, fraud or other areas of risk for government and/or private healthcare clients.  Within that role, you will provide business and high-level technical support for pre-sales activities for SAS’ fraud and compliance solutions as part of a team of other subject matter experts across government and healthcare.  This team serves as primary support for all opportunities within the United States within those business area, as well as secondary support for opportunities around the world.


    This is hands on work, involving travel to speak at conferences, testify before legislatures, boards and commissions, and working directly with customers from the line level to top executives and elected officials during pre-sales activities and during project implementation. 


    You will be expected to develop an understanding of SAS solutions supported by Security Intelligence, and how they can solve customer issues of risk and program integrity through the applied use of analytics, data management and business intelligence. 


    This team supports a broad range of government programs in dealing with their challenges, including customer work Medicaid, Medicare, food and cash aid programs, unemployment, workers’ compensation taxation, procurement and lottery fraud.  We are seeking a person with experience and passion with direct experience working with these types of programs who will complement the opportunities we are pursuing as well as the broader skill sets of the team. 


    Your role would have you doing the following types of activities:


    • Work with account executives to develop account plans as well as craft and deliver client presentations and key capability demonstrations.
    • You will lead client workshops, manage an opportunity pipeline, and support proposal development and contract negotiations.
    • Support the development of marketing materials and SAS sales training
    • Demonstrate SAS' experience and leadership through authoring publications, speaking at industry events, participating in work groups and being active in social media channels
    • Engage with various levels of government, including senior elected officials and appointed senior staff, to affect policy and promote risk and fraud detection and prevention efforts and projects
    • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to customers and SAS implementation staff or partners during fraud solution implementations.
    • You will need to have a demonstrated ability to detect and understand the customer's business needs; articulate the value of our solutions and offerings to various audiences including senior executives, functional managers, investigators and technologists; and identify how SAS' fraud solutions can be easily integrated into existing business processes and infrastructure.





    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Computer Science or other quantitative field
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience with fraud and integrity within government programs (which can include oversight and evaluation of such functions), or providing consulting or pre-sales to those business areas
    • Public speaking experience
    • Presentation of complex ideas and concepts to department/agency heads or senior government executives
    • Ability to travel as needs require (avg 30-50%)



    • Ability to articulate solutions to customers’ complex business problems using innovative analytical processes and techniques
    • Experience with analytic and business approaches related to risk, abuse or fraud detection
    • Experience with technical and business approaches related to data integration
    • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills
    • Ability to relate technical and analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Ability to work and learn independently and as part of a team



    • Experience working in the role of an inspector general, internal audit, or program oversight for government programs at the federal, state, and/or local level
    • Familiarity with SAS
    • Experience with Link or Social Network Analysis
    • Experience with advanced analytics (e.g., anomaly detection, predictive modeling)
    • Knowledge of business intelligence and/or data warehousing/data integration software
    • Knowledge of government procurement and accounts payable processes, with a focus on fraud and integrity
    • Prior involvement with industry groups such as the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE), or equivalent
