As the Capture Consultant, you will work with subject matter experts within the SAS Security Intelligence Government and Healthcare team, proposals team, professional services and field account executives and management to win business on opportunities ranging from one million dollars to upwards of 50 million. Your role will be focused on opportunities within US Government at all levels – local, state and federal, as well as private healthcare players. At times, you may play a role in opportunities this team provides secondary support for outside the United States.

 

The Capture Consultant has a role to shape and win deals based on a balanced approach, taking the needs of the customer, the competition and SAS and its’ partners or potential partners into account. You shall be involved at various points, from research to identify opportunities through GovWin or other resources, through qualified opportunities into proposal responses to a win.

 

This role is hands-on and you must be able to manage multiple opportunities at various stages in the capture process simultaneously. Job responsibilities include

 

  • Develop market assessments and go-to-market plans
  • Research and identify potential opportunities for pipeline
  • Conduct business development activities to create opportunity pipeline with target clients and partners
  • Assist in pre-sales account strategy
  • Partner with and provide leadership to sales and delivery teams in developing strategy and responses to requests for information and in formal solicitations
  • Prepare and assist for orals
  • Developing strategies for addressing the specific competitors within each opportunity you support
  • Perform public disclosure/FOIA requests following RFI or RFP processes, research competitor responses and utilize to craft SAS strategies on future proposals
  • Work with internal SAS project staff and customers of Security Intelligence solutions to identify and write up ROI from projects
  • You will need to have a demonstrated ability to detect and understand the client’s business needs; articulate the value of our solutions and offerings; and identify how SAS solutions can be integrated into existing business processes and infrastructure, as well as refining processes and infrastructure when clients are modernizing large portions of operations.

 

Qualifications:

 

Essential

 

  • Six (6) or more years of experience of capture or business development experience in government and/or private sector healthcare
  • Significant experience in the capture process for large scale, complex IT projects, including
  • Establishing strategies for responding to bids and RFP’s
  • Preparing and reviewing content for bids and RFP responses
  • Planning oral presentations
  • Experience shaping business processes to effective outcomes internally and/or for customers
  • Experience in preparing FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) or other public disclosure requests, as well as researching competitor responses
  • Experience in developing ROI case studies or working with customers to articulate the value of IT projects and solutions
  • Ability to travel as business needs require (25%+)

Additional

  • Experience with analytic and business approaches related to healthcare or other government programs
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work and learn independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferences

  • High level understanding of program or payment integrity customers or issues
  • Previous experience working with government or private healthcare payers
  • Business knowledge of analytical, business intelligence and/or data warehousing / data integration software
