    This position is for a Test Engineer working on components of SAS Visual Investigator, a part of the SAS Fraud and Security Intelligence product suite. SAS Visual Investigator is a cloud-ready investigation and incident management solution that allows customers to analyze large structured and unstructured data sources. Users can create, triage and manage alerts; perform detailed investigations; and disseminate the resulting insights. The product provides a customizable platform for other SAS teams and external developers to create a new generation of investigative applications using the very latest SAS technologies. Solutions built on top of SAS Visual Investigator include:

    • Anti-Money Laundering
    • Child Welfare
    • Counter Terrorism
    • Law Enforcement Intelligence

    We are looking for a test engineer to work within a team responsible for tactical items related to SAS Visual Investigator. The expectation is that the person in this role would become one of the primary experts on the product within the organization. Open to all levels of experience, hire level will be determined based on the candidate's related experience matched to the role.


    The tactical tasks could include the following:

    • Testing custom controls for solutions built upon SAS Visual Investigator.
    • Testing services built to support solutions built upon SAS Visual Investigator.
    • Assisting the general SAS Visual Investigator community with issues they encounter.
    • Assisting SAS Support team with customer issues.
    • Assisting in customer implementations where required.

    Essential experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
    • Experience writing software applications, testing software, and/or general programming.
    • SQL and databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL and Agile development practices.
    • Ability to and/or experience in the following:
      • Design, develop, and executes test plans, scenarios, and/or processes.
      • Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
      • Interact directly with developers to test program code to ensure software quality and functionality.
      • Ensure consistency in product and/or feature integration.
      • Identify and verifies defects.
      • Participate in project scoping and scheduling.
      • Track progress of individual tasks and communicates status and risks.
      • Review relevant documentation.
      • Learn and explore new and emerging technologies.


    Additional experience:

    • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Energetic, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Hard-working and motivated, able to take initiative and meet deadlines.


    Preferred experience:

    • Unix OS development environment experience.
    • Experience with Cloud Foundry platform, Docker, Kubernetes or Amazon Cloud architecture.
    • Experience with Machine Learning Techniques (Highly preferred)
