    Join the world's leading statistical software company and make a difference in the practice of statistics! SAS is expanding its statistical software for analysis of survival data, and we are looking for a specialist in survival analysis methods to accelerate this exciting development effort.


    In this position, you will implement specialized methods for survival analysis in new and existing SAS software.  You will keep up with the forefront of statistical methodology, identify appropriate statistical techniques for implementation, and program these methods in C.  You will also test and document the software and present it to professional statistical audiences.


    Essential Qualifications:

    • PhD in statistics, biostatistics, or a related field
    • Advanced graduate-level training and research in modern methods for survival analysis (parametric, semi-parametric, and non-parametric methods)
    • Experience writing large, complex programs in C, C++, Java, FORTRAN, or a similar scientific programming language


    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong background in statistical computing


    • Experience developing commercial-quality software
    • In-depth knowledge of specialized methods for survival analysis, such as frailty models, Bayesian survival analysis, joint models for longitudinal and survival data, competing risks methodologies
    • Experience in modern computationally intensive methods with applications in survival analysis
    • Experience with parallel computing in shared/distributed memory environments and GPU programming
