About the Role:

Do you have a passion for connecting with CIOs through an array of digital and social channels? Do you like to create marketing plans with multiple channels, effective next steps and actionable analysis? If so, SAS is looking for you to make an immediate impact in our marketing organization, targeting the CIO persona!


As a Go-To-Market Lead, you’ll perform strategic activities associated with generating leads and the planning of go-to-market efforts aligned to SAS' overall sales and marketing strategy. You’ll be tasked with creating mindshare and market share among CIOs, bringing together all of the components to synchronize digital and traditional marketing channels so that SAS gets found more often and more effectively by CIOs at large enterprises and mid-market businesses.


You’ll work both individually and collaboratively to develop a comprehensive marketing plan that includes integrated campaigns at each stage of the customer journey. Sprinkled in will be some regional, national and online events, which must have a social component to maximize effectiveness.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creating a go-to-market plan for the CIO persona
  • Leading marketing efforts designed to increase awareness and generate leads through a variety of live events and digital channels.
  • Developing the marketing program details, designing and executing on the strategy, and communicating the effort accordingly.
  • Analyzing metrics and communicating results including traffic and conversion statistics, lead generation, pipeline impact, and return on investment.
  • Managing sales and marketing alignment by showcasing campaigns, methods, and metrics.
  • Work collaboratively to build specific offers at each stage of the customer journey. Offers can extend to many channels, including web, social, search and email.
  • Work as a key liaison to multiple organizations across SAS including industry product marketing, content marketing, marketing sciences, external communications, corporate creative, etc.
  • Performing other duties, as assigned.



  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in demand generating marketing or related function in the technology or other business-to-business industry.



  • Demonstrated understanding of CIO persona and marketing concepts related to Analytics, Data Visualization, Data Management and Customer Intelligence software.
  • Strong track record of understanding of digital media and marketing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build strategic working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated project management and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing communication concepts/functions and software tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HTML). Plus experience with marketing tools including sales force automation, marketing automation, and social media tools.
  • Creativity and a willingness to experiment and take risks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to build strategic working relationships
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
