    We are looking for a Manager of UX Design to join our Curriculum Pathways team. Curriculum Pathways at SAS is an organization that puts our company’s passion in education into action.     In this role you will have the opportunity to lead a team of 3-4 individuals who are engaged in providing usability evaluation, research, design, and support to software development teams. Additionally, you will manages the activities related to providing design support to product teams and develop methodologies and procedures used in researching, analyzing, implementing, and testing user interface designs. You will also be the individual leading design collaborations and innovation activities.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Organizes and prioritizes group responsibilities/objectives while meeting department, division, and corporate goals. Ensures that projects are completed and implemented in a timely manner while following established procedures and schedules.
    • Communicates and represents departmental interests to staff, other departments, divisions, and various management levels as necessary.
    • Provides technical leadership as appropriate for projects and corporate initiatives; trains, guides and manages activities of staff.
    • Collaborates with divisional and cross-divisional managers and teams to ensure quality, consistency, and innovation among products and corporate initiatives.
    • Fosters design consistency, integration, and innovation (as appropriate). Coordinates the creation and implementation of quality standards and design processes for products.
    • Makes decisions on resource assignments and personnel issues. Sets performance standards and provides ongoing performance feedback to employees. Interviews and hires new employees as required. Encourages and fosters individual professional growth, as well as teamwork among employees.
    • Keeps current on relevant industry trends and standards.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Represents the user experience design community internally and may assist with external representation.
    • Assists with the design for a functional area, product, or solution.
    • Assists with research associated with user experience design projects, directions, and/or technologies.
    • Engages with upper management in major decisions and complex issues.
    • Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual employees.
    • Functions as an advisor to employees regarding tasks, projects, and operations.
    • Participates on cross-divisional teams for corporate initiatives.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required, and a graduate degree preferred in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Graphics, Industrial Design, or related field.
    • At least 8 years of user experience design and analysis or related experience, including two years of project lead, supervisory or management experience. At this level, post-graduate coursework may be expected.

    Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements stated above.
