As an Associate Systems Developer, you will work as part of a team to build network automation for SAS Global Network teams, create and automate ServiceNow Catalog Items for self-service as well as other general automation. Focus on building automation to enhance internal services and improve internal customer experiences. Utilize REST architecture and current web technologies. Projects offer opportunities to design and architect automated solutions, implement high-value automation, and frequently communicate with stakeholders. Fast-paced environment with shifting priorities to meet internal customer requirements.
Primary Responsibilities for this Role Include:
Designs and writes new or revised program language code or processing routines.
Modifies, maintains, and updates software at host level such as compilers, link editors, assemblers, OEM utilities, macros, and subroutines.
Develops and review operator and control instructions.
Prepares and conducts system and program tests requiring the interfacing of hardware and software.
Performs programming tasks including program design, coding, debugging, and documentation.
Prepares feasibility studies and designs tests to determine operating characteristics of software as required.
Verifies and tracks "bugs" isolated by other groups.
Transfer and test applications across multiple environments.
Develop examples for demonstrations.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
Minor software design and development experience
Minor experience with Linux operating systems
Minor experience debugging and troubleshooting system interoperability
Participation in a weekly business hours on-call rotation schedule.
Experience with Python versions 2.7.x and 3.x
Experience with Django web framework
Experience with Ansible and Ansible Tower
Experience developing REST APIs
Experience with ServiceNow
Experience with MySQL or other relational databases
Knowledge of networking technologies (firewalls, DNS, DHCP)
Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN)
Collaborative team experience with proven problem-solving skills
Advanced level of Linux knowledge
Experience with Shell scripting (PowerShell, CMD, PERL, etc.)
Knowledge of cloud services and technologies
Proven proactive/creative management of issues
Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
Ability to manage project requirements and interface with employees of varying skillsets in a high-pressure environment
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
