    In this role, you will apply your positive attitude and UI talent to make an immediate impact on SAS’ user interfaces using HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS technologies. You will work closely with visual designers and UX experts to match and foster design intent for products in the Risk Research and Quantitative Solutions division (RQS). You will also make architectural and design decisions for the product’s UI and help negotiate interfaces with the server tier.


    Duties of this position include designing and implementing new functionality, as well as providing routine maintenance and production support. This position may entail architecting portions of the solution using the latest SAS tools and technologies. You will engage in discussions with product management regarding new business requirements and collaborate within our multi-tiered team to produce high quality and maintainable user interfaces.



    Essential Requirements:


    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
    • Experience using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS to design high quality, scalable user interfaces




    • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, jQuery, etc.
    • Solid understanding of JSON and RESTful APIs
    • Experience working on a cross-functional team, including UX and Visual Design
    • Experience developing for multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE/Edge)
    • Working understanding of user interface principles
    • Knowledge of web standards, especially those relating to accessibility
    • Experience using OpenUI5
    • Basic understanding of SQL
    • Comfortable with version control software and/or package managers (Git/GitHub, CVS)

    • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and programming skills
    • Experience with Agile, including specific practices of Scrum and TDD
    • Excellent estimation abilities in scoping work in a highly complex multi-tier system
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and with a team
    • Proven track record of delivering innovative software solutions
    • Experience working with Technical Support on customer related issues
    • Experience working with training and documentation teams
