Data drives everything and we need to make sure it’s right.  Join a team dedicated to providing quality products to our customers that not only manage data but provide the opportunity to unleash its potential.  As a client facing Test Engineer and part of the data management team, you will work directly with customers and developers to test and validate capabilities in our data preparation, data quality, data governance and cognitive data management deliverables.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Participates in project scoping and scheduling; tracks progress of individual tasks and communicates status and risks.
    • Affects the quality of software products by influencing the design and testability during development.
    • Involves stakeholders to ensure consistency in product and/or feature integration.
    • Designs, develops, and executes test plans, scenarios, and/or processes to evaluate the quality of customer deliverables.
    • Interacts directly with developers to test program code to ensure software quality and functionality.
    • Exercises good judgment as to methods, techniques and evaluation criteria.
    • Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
    • Identify and clearly report reproducible defects and verify resolutions.
    • Collaborate with management, developers, and other testers to identify and mitigate risks.
    • Reviews relevant documentation.
    • Leads relevant team meetings.
    • Suggests process improvements.
    • Keeps current of the state-of-the-art technology.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Working knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems.
    • Experience with a programming language.
    • Understanding of software testing methodologies, principles and techniques.
    • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
    • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
    • Detail oriented, well-organized and excellent ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Ability to clearly communicate technical risk, challenges, and recommended solutions to leadership.
    • Creative and strategic problem solver.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
    • At least 2 years of experience in software testing.

    Preferences:

    • Experience with CAS Servers, CAS Libraries and loading data into CAS
    • Experience writing SQL queries and working with one or more databases/data sources such as Teradata, Oracle, or the Hadoop Ecosystem
    • Experience with SAS programming language including SAS Macros and Data Step
    • Experience with SAS Data Integration Studio
    • Experience with deployment, installation, and configuration of multiple software platforms in a variety of ecosystems, including cloud instances
    • Familiarity with test automation tools
    • Experience in the testing application accessibility features
    • Knowledge of HTML Common components
    • Familiarity testing applications using analytical models and data mining approaches
    • Familiarity with event stream processing
    • Experience with dynamic security testing of applications

    Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the education requirement stated above.
