    We are looking for a strong mid-tier Software Developer to join the Health Analytics Framework R&D group within the Global Hosting and US Professional Services Division of SAS. Our group develops best-of-breed advanced analytics healthcare solutions providing a scalable, highly performant architecture aimed at solving healthcare big-data challenges along with numerous other problems in the healthcare and life sciences industries.

     

    Responsibilities: 

    • Assist in the design and architecture of a web-based healthcare application framework.
    • Develop mid-tier Java services for user management and authentication.
    • Develop mid-tier Java services for healthcare code searches.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
    • 7+ years of experience in commercial software development.
    • Proficient in Java enterprise web server programming.
    • Experience architecting enterprise solutions.
    • Experience with Spring Boot or traditional Spring Framework apps.
    • Experience with relational database systems such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.

     Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the education requirement stated above.

     

    Preferences:

    • HTML5 development and experience with related technologies like CSS and JavaScript.
    • Experience with Eclipse, IntelliJ, or similar IDE.
    • Writing unit tests using a framework such as JUnit or TestNG.
    • Experience writing SAS programs.
    • Developing apps deployed using Docker.
    • Hadoop experience.
    • Experience with Consul, Kubernetes, and OAuth.
    • Familiarity with Gradle.
    • Building microservices.
    • Source code management with Git.

     Additional Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proven leadership skills.
    • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
    • Developing apps for the SAS Viya platform.
    • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
    • Experience building RESTful APIs.
    • Exposure to the OpenStack platform.
    • Familiarity with full stack development contributing at different layers of a solution as needed.
