    The Sr. AI/ML Data Engineer will be passionate about analytics and knowledgeable about the supporting platforms that enable analytic solutions.  You will also be curious with a drive for continuous learning.  You will have a passion for developing solutions for customers’ varied business problems.  At SAS, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with many experts in a variety of analytical specialties.  Your experience using Open Source technologies, setting up back office analytics services and using cloud environments to enhance capabilities will be valued, as SAS seeks to advance our approach to market.  An ideal candidate will have applied the analytic disciplines to provide value in the Media or Communication industries.


    You will be focused on ensuring success of SAS platform sales.   You will support the sales team with solution sales activities to maximize revenue opportunities and ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction, including:

    • Providing consultative services, including solution development, demonstration and positioning of SAS capabilities
    • Solving complex business problems based on SAS core competencies in advanced analytics and solutions
    • Assisting in product adoption and retention.

    You will also be responsible for developing and enhancing our execution capabilities which requires a strong foundation in analytics and visualization software with high caliber presentation skills.  This analytic foundation could include econometric forecasting, machine learning, text analytics and/or optimization skills.  


    Additional activities may include:

    • Conducting discovery meetings to collect, analyze, clarify and document business requirements during the sales cycle and post sales to support the implementation team in adoption and to produce a detailed solution proposal. 
    • Delivering standard, customized and/or strategic, senior level solution demonstrations, proof of concepts, and presentations outlining the functional capabilities, competitive advantages and business benefits of the SAS solutions as they apply to client needs. 
    • Participating in product solution training to acquire and maintain a detailed level of product knowledge of core components of SAS offerings and assigned solution areas.
    • Collaborating proactively with other team members to strategize on opportunities, cross-training and knowledge transfer.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.  
    • Strong analytical track record and proven experience in machine learning, deep learning, and building analytics solutions.
    • Hands-on experience with analytics and machine learning software, including SAS and/or open source tools, such as, R and Python. 
    • Hands-on experience working within a Cloud environment.
    • At least 5 Years of work experience of technical sales, systems engineering, project management, applications development and/or customer support.
    • Ability to travel up to 30% of time as business needs dictates.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Graduate degree in Statistics, Economics, and Computer Science. 
    • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable tactical and strategic insights. 
    • An in-depth understanding of Cloud technologies like Docker and Kubernetes and experience with Cloud Platforms.
    • Hands on experience working with Kafka/RabbitMQ or other real-time AMQP tools and batch processing toolkits like Spark, Presto, Cassandra, Hadoop etc. for facilitating web scale big data focused operations
    • Delivering, Monitoring and Maintaining service endpoints – stateless and stateful services using any of the following web technologies – Django, Node, Flask, Rails etc.  
    • Good problem solving, organizational, decision-making written, oral and interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
    • Continuous drive to learn and refine skills: soft skills, technical skills, and industry knowledge.
