    As a Sr. Business Operations Specialist, you will be in a key role in the Global Hosting and Cloud Services divisions. You will directly engage with various business operations groups in support of strategic goals and projects. You will be involved in vendor management, strategic hosting decisions, IaaS and Cloud infrastructure deployments, hosting cost analysis, supplier qualification, and strategic planning. This role requires a high degree of focus and the ability to work on multiple, simultaneous efforts, while also interfacing with all levels of the SAS global organization.


    Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Leads projects or programs, aligning scope with strategic business objectives
    • Design and implement high level business process that define relationships between hosting and cloud service providers and SAS service providers
    • Manage the business relationship with key hosting and cloud service providers, including managing the use and consumption by internal customers
    • Interface with IT Security & Compliance, and Information Security, as liaison for hosting suppliers
    • Develop cost models for hosting and cloud services
    • Recommend recovery options and assist with the implementation of disaster recovery solutions.
    • And, other duties as required



    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or IT, or a related quantitative field 
    • A minimum of 5-7 years of IT Operations or Project Management experience.
    • Experience working directly with delivery of cloud services
    • Experience with Security & Compliance, and IT supplier management.
    • Strong working knowledge of (one or more of the following): ISO 27001, FISMA, NIST, HIPAA Security and Privacy requirements, standards, and guidelines


    • 3-5 years of experience in a hosting or ‘software as a service’ organization.
    • ITIL v3 Foundation or higher certification
    • Knowledge of security tools, security architecture, and NIST security standards and compliance measurements
    • Knowledge in the application of FISMA guidelines including the NIST special publications 800-18, 800-30, 800-37, 800-39, 800-53, 800-53A, and 800-60
    • Excellent facilitation and meeting hosting skills
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills 
    • Excellent organization and planning
    • Strong technical competency
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously balancing competing priorities 
    • Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team
    • Superior problem-solving skills
