    Summary:

    Practitioner with knowledge or experiences in some combination of the following: predictive analytics, machine learning, knowledge discovery in databases, optimization, statistical theory, experimentation and/or time series analysis. Ability to manipulate voluminous data with different degree of structuring across disparate sources to generate and communicate actionable insights for internal or external parties. Possesses strong interpersonal skills to portray information.

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Collaborates with IT to prepare and manipulate structured and unstructured HR, Sales and Financial data for data discovery and mining from multiple disparate resources.
    • Builds high-end analytic models, utilizing supervised and unsupervised learning models, to support business leaders with data driven insights that address immediate business problems and objectives.
    • Creates informative visualizations that intuitively display large amounts of data and/or complex relationships; translates data analytics into coherent reports and presentations for internal and external customer with varying degrees of technical knowledge.
    • May have a specialty around machine learning, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, optimization or advanced statistics.
    • Routinely uses anonymized or encrypted data.
    • Prototypes solutions using varied resources, including SAS software and open source software.
    • Provides support for projects and initiatives that contain an analytical component.
    • Helps prepare results of key analytic findings for communication to executives and stakeholders.
    • Assists with support for production analytical models as needed.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Foundational knowledge of applied statistics, data modeling techniques, predictive modeling techniques and in-sample and out-of-sample model assessment.
    • Knowledge of at least one operating system supported by SAS software (i.e. Unix, Windows).
    • Knowledge of HR, Financials or Sales data.
    • Ability to communicate with people of various technical and non-technical backgrounds, think analytically, write and edit technical material, and relate statistical concepts and applications to statistical and non-statistical SAS users.
    • Ability to gather requirements, develop plan and communicate results.

     

    Education and experience required:

    • Master’s degree in fields that include strong coverage of applied mathematics and statistics, computer science, engineering, or related fields.
    • Typically requires 1 year of relevant experience such as analyzing data and/or building analytical models.
