  • Overview

    As a Java Software Developer at SAS, you will be working on Orion, the Sales and Marketing platform for SAS. This is a project involving an EE Java (RESTful) backend with an Angular front end.  We are looking for an experienced developer, with strong programming skills and the ability to follow our Agile process.


    The tactical tasks could include the following:

    • Developing custom Angular pages.
    • Converting existing AngularJS Services and Components to their Angular counterparts.
    • Developing custom Java RESTful services.
    • Updating and manipulating data in SQL tables through SQL Clients.
    • Analyzing performance of services, queries, and web pages.


    Essential Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or another quantitative field.
    • 3+ years of related programming experience.
    • Experience with SQL and the Oracle database.
    • Demonstrated expertise/experience with software technologies including:
      • Java EE, Jackson and RESTful service development, and/or
      • Angular, Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and JSON.



    • Experience with Agile development practices.
    • Strong experience unit testing (Junit for Java and Jasmine/Jest for Angular).
    • Experience performing code reviews.
    • Analyzing and optimizing the performance of web applications.
    • Oracle 11g experience.

    • Ability to, and/or experience in, the following:

      • formulate and adhere to good development and testing practices.
    • Strong interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to think analytically and effectively communicate issues and solutions.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team.
