  • Overview

    As a Technical Consultant in the Global Hosting and U.S. Professional Services team, you will support and deliver SAS Hosted Solution offerings involving n-tier architecture software for SAS Merchandise Intelligence, SAS Customer Intelligence, SAS Visual Analytics, and SAS Financial Crimes solutions. Your duties will include: implementation of automated processes that execute SAS solution processes across a range of SAS solutions; planning; exception detection, event management and creation of predefined business reports based on analytical models; extension and automation of existing functionality in the SAS System; collaboration with other members of the development and testing teams with an understanding of the business requirements; advising, assisting, and providing documentation and technical publications for external and internal customers regarding the supported solution, as needed; And performing other duties as assigned. 

    Essential Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
    • At least 4 years of experience in a technical role.
    • Experience with Unix shell scripting and UNIX system commands.
    • Excellent debugging and problem solving skills and experience troubleshooting integrated systems.
    • Experience with source control management such as SVN, GIT, Perforce, Mercurial, Rational or other.
    • One or more of the following programming languages: SAS, Python, or PHP.

    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Willingness and aptitude to learn new technologies and languages.
    • Excellent work pace, productivity and time management skills.
    • Experience working within a  team environment.
    • Experience working with customers and ability to react to customer issues with urgency.

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    • Experience with any RDMS technology: MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Teradata etc.

    Experience with monitoring systems such as Zabbix, Nagios or other.
