    What you’ll do

    This position is responsible for the entire Apple Mac platform at SAS. You will be responsible for system automation, configuration management, and deployment engineering. Experience with macOS and Linux and the enterprise best-practice toolsets for managing them is a must. You will get to design and engineer the future of the Mac platform at SAS, and should demonstrate strong leadership and a curious, self-directed work ethic.

     

    You will:

    • Develop strategies and code for macOS endpoints, whether personal devices, automated testers, or virtual machines, to ensure our employees have the tools they need to do amazing work.
    • Coordinate the ongoing automation, testing/QA, and deployment of Apple and third-party software updates.
    • Manage operational deployments of Mac management services using VMware vSphere, Linux docker hosts, and containerized apps.
    • Maintain, collaborate, and create new python and swift automation tools.
    • Work closely with the Security team to ensure device compliance with security goals.
    • Author knowledge base articles and train the employee service desk to better assist customers of the platform.
    • Serve as an escalation point for Incident management.

     

    What we’re looking for

    • Strong experience with:
      • Munki
      • MDM for macOS
      • Python
    • Working knowledge of the following:
      • Salt or other Configuration Management.
      • Git
      • AutoPkg
      • Django
      • AWS: Specifically S3, CloudFront, and Lambda.
      • Trends and best practices using open source enterprise Mac management tools.
    • You’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.

    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams to achieve desired results
    • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
    • Previous experience working with international offices
    • Familiarity with Apple Care for Enterprise (ACE)
    • Modern management experience with MobileIron or InTune
    • Other knowledge, skills, and abilities
