  • Overview

    Summary of Duties: Acts as a first-level manager. Directs the activities of a software quality assurance function. Oversees the development and execution of software test plans and analysis of test results in accordance with the company quality standards. Supervises the team in the development, prioritization, and implementation of testing activities throughout the software release cycle. Develop, promote, and recommends innovative solutions and industry best practices to department leadership for software quality and to attain company objectives. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Develop, organize, prioritize, and assign objectives and responsibilities consistent with department, division, and corporate goals. Communicate and represent departmental interests to staff, other departments, divisions and various management levels as necessary. Coordinate and prioritize testing of new software under development and of production software in the field. Coordinate the creation and implementation of quality standards and testing processes for one of the SAS products through the development of test plans, test harnesses, reference documents, and other instruments. Ensure that projects are completed and implemented in a timely manner while following established procedures and schedules. Analyze test results and testing tasks in accordance with test plans. Communicate testing status, project risks, resource requirements and allocation, and other relevant knowledge with upper management. Advocate for the adoption of best practices and continuous improvement throughout the software lifecycle. Become actively involved in daily operations and duties as needed to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems or issues.


    Qualifications:  Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study, and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or as a Project Manager, Team Lead, Tester, Technical Associate, Analyst, or related occupation. Position also requires two (2) years project, team lead, supervisory or management experience. Requires three (3) years of experience with the following: SAS programming; functional and NLS testing methodologies; agile methodology; project management and tracking tools, including JIRA; test driven development; Junit; design patterns for object oriented programming; testing concepts; repeatable test framework design; SQL; writing code in at least one of the following: Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, Lua, or HTML; and with at least one of the following databases: ODBC, MS SQL, Server Greenplum, DB2, Oracle, MS Access, or MySQL. Requires two (2) years of experience with the following cloud based technologies: Hadoop, Amazon, ASWS, and Microsoft Azure. Requires two (2) years of experience with test management, test development, testing tools and execution, and developing and executing solutions to complex technical problems.
