What you’ll do

The IoT Principal Program Manager requires a resourceful, multi-talented individual that enjoys managing a wide spectrum of activities in support of channel partner opportunities.  In this role, you will work with the IoT Commercial organization that is responsible for IoT channel facilitation and the Microsoft Azure team to manage a channel partner program centered around co-creating and co-selling joint solutions.  You will additionally work with R&D, Customer Advisory, Deliver Support & Enablement, Analytics and IoT Marketing organizations to facilitate partner success.

 

In this role you will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and establish and maintain a strategic relationship with one or more SAS IoT Commercial Channel Partners.
  • Craft the program strategy & mission for the Microsoft Azure / SAS IoT partnership that will be the foundation for decisions down the road.
  • Manage opportunity engagement between the Microsoft Azure IoT and SAS IoT Commercial teams to align engagement and revenue driving activities across business development executives and SAS functional areas outside of IoT.
  • Ensure orchestration of solution across the platform by leveraging the learnings and aligning to overall vision.
  • Establish governance structure, cadence for critical meetings, and overall engagement model.
  • Work with IoT Solution and Customer Advisory teams to coordinate pre-sales and consulting opportunities in support of the Channel Partner relationship.
  • Collaborate with IoT Commercial in order to pursue additional opportunities in parallel to widen the bandwidth of channel partner activity, build trust with all partner contacts, and promote and maintain the integrity of the SAS/IoT Partner relationship.
  • Partner with IoT Division teams to develop and manage an overall Partner Engagement Plan that documents all opportunities, enablement, support resources, and marketing plans required to mature the partner relationship, and the timeframes for all elements.
  • Ensure alignment of channel partner program scope with strategic business objectives.
  • Monitor and report on channel partner readiness, execution, and advise on strategies to remediate channel fulfillment issues.
  • Monitor and report on success (engagement, pipeline growth, number of opportunities, closed deals, partner incentives) and identify additional commercial engagements
  • Champion and manage new projects to create stronger partnerships.
  • Orchestrate internal resources on behalf of partner(s) for pre-sales support, enablement, consulting services and remediation of technical support issues.

What we’re looking for:

  • Business development and program management experience
  • Experience partnering, or working strategically with Microsoft (preferably Microsoft Azure IoT)
  • IoT solution and IoT technology sales background/experience
  • Excellent negotiation, facilitation, problem solving, organizational, decision-making, written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • High sales and customer orientation and pronounced consultancy competence.
  • Good understanding of software, platform, cloud, connectivity and technology in the widest sense.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple teams on diverse partner initiatives.
  • Experience managing strategic partnerships

Other knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 
  • Management consulting experience with program strategy, solution development, and governance creation.
  • Travel as business needs dictate.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, MIS, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline. Graduate coursework or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in IoT related roles, with knowledge of streaming data sources and applications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise platforms and cloud technology
  • Familiar with SAS or competitive products in IoT
