JMP is an independent R&D division of SAS with a 25 year history of providing interactive, graphical, statistical discovery software to the engineering and scientific communities.  The JMP Family of Products includes JMP Clinical and JMP Genomics, two solutions integrating JMP and SAS that are dedicated to vertical applications in life sciences research.   


We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Software Developer who will be responsible for developing and supporting JMP Clinical study management, data management and analysis reports for clinical trial safety, efficacy, and data site integrity analysis. JMP Clinical integrates SAS programming and JMP interactive visualization to create analysis reviews for biometrics, medical monitors and writers, regulatory reviewers and clinical data management and operations user roles. The solution leverages CDISC standard data models (SEND, SDTM and ADaM); knowledge and experience programming around these domain structures is highly desired.  Candidates with strong experience in principles of software user interface development is also highly desired. 



Essential Requirements: 

  • MS/PhD in Computer Science, Biostatistics, life/analytical sciences or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in SAS programming (SAS/BASE, STAT, and Macros) or other related scripting/programming language in a pharmaceutical/CRO or clinical research environment
  • Knowledge of drug development, and clinical trial processes pertaining to clinical trials phase I-IV analysis, reporting and data management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of CDISC requirements and implementation guidelines, programming experience around SDTM and/or SEND data structures
  • Familiarity with GCP, ICH, and FDA guidelines and regulations applicable to conduct clinical research.
  • Familiarity with building interactive visualization dashboards (with JMP, R Shiny, Spotfire, Tableau for example
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to learn new programming languages, technology, tools and processes in an independent work environment
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills to work effectively in a collaborative team environment



  • Experience with JMP, JMP Clinical or similar products
  • Experience with JMP Scripting Language (JSL), R, Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience in C++ or Java programming
  • Experience with data visualization concepts and user interface considerations
  • Demonstrated leadership in clinical trial programming and support of therapeutic areas (oncology preferred) or in non-clinical animal models research
  • Experience in translational research and inclusion of genomic data into pharmaceutical development processes
