What you’ll do  

As a DevOps Engineer in our Data Management division, you will be responsible for supporting the build and delivery of software through CI/CD pipelines. You will help build and maintain infrastructure as code using Kubernetes clusters and discrete environments. You will help apply best practices to improve existing workflows for software build, deployment and testing.


You will:

  • Bring your experience of best DevOps tools and methodologies to define and implement standardized workflows.
  • Help develop deployment best practices in Kubernetes environments.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to troubleshoot issues.
  • Understand and integrate with the various cloud, on-prem, and hosted deployment methods which SAS uses.
  • Document processes and communicate across development groups. 


What we’re looking for

  • You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical consulting, systems engineering, research and development and/or customer support.
  • Experience working with:
    • DevOps tools, techniques and technologies (Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, CI/CD, Agile).
    • At least one of the following development languages: Python, Java, C/C++, shell.
    • Exposure to cloud infrastructure technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
    • Linux operating systems.


The nice to haves  

  • Linux systems administration.
  • Experience working with SAS solutions.
  • Hardware knowledge of storage, network, CPU and memory.
  • Certifications in SAS, Linux, or Cloud technologies.
  • Schedulers and/or scheduling principles (preferably in the Linux environment).
  • Project tracking software (Confluence, Jira).

  • Proven record of handling increasing responsibilities.
