Summary of Duties: Develop high-quality statistical software by designing, programming, testing, and documenting code. Research and select the appropriate statistical methods and computational algorithms.  Advance SAS’ leadership position in the market for statistical software by understanding and anticipating customer’s needs. Build expertise in one or more specialized areas of statistics by participating in research conferences and professional activities. Learn advanced programming techniques, elements of procedure writing, and SAS development environment. Test code, write documentation, work with technical support and give presentations.  Develop and maintain software in one or more specialized statistical areas.

 

Qualifications:  Position requires a Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics or Machine Learning.

 

Requires experience in Statistical Software Development and Machine Learning Engineering.  Experience must include: programming in C, C++, FORTRAN SAS/STAT procedures; SAS/IML; SAS macro language; numerical linear algebra; research in areas of clustering and outlier detection.  Experience may be gained through coursework.
