Must be eligible to work M-F 15-20hrs per week to start with the potential to increase hours to a regular full time schedule. This ontract role may convert to full time for the right hire.

What you’ll do:

An an Office Administrator within our Fulton, MD, Regional Office, you will be responsible for providing office operation support by maintaining a secure, efficient space for SAS employees to work and host their customers.


Responsibilities include:

  • Act as department liaison; distributing appropriate information to, and continually communicating with, staff.
  • Screen telephone calls; take messages or redirect calls; responds to routine questions.
  • Assist in performing specialized administrative duties related to the department assigned.
  • Composs and type/enter documents; may take dictation or notes, possibly of a technical nature.
  • Keep process documents up-to-date and maintain accurate filing systems.
  • Perform general office duties: process mail, ship materials, duplicate and fax documents; order supplies and equipment; arrang for equipment repair.
  • Maintain calendars and coordinates schedules; make appointments and travel arrangements; assist guests.
  • Arrange meetings and seminars; coordinate processes, events, and office moves.
  • Input data into software applications, verifies accuracy, and produces requested reports.
  • Assist department staff with administrative duties using online applications.
  • Serve as point of contact for internal and/or external guests while providing excellent customer service.
  • Takes meeting notes, run reports in Excel and assist with maintanence of internal Sharepoint site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for:

  • Associate’s degree in Secretarial Science, Business Administration, Administrative Office Technology, or related field.
  • Typically requires six years of general office experience, preferably related to area of assignment.

Other knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Customer service experience
  • Previous experience working in a federal government setting preferred
  • Strong, proactive communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of office procedures
  • Good problem solving, writing, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to lift/stock cases of paper and soft drinks
