Summary of Duties: Research in computer vision and implement algorithms in deep learning, running in multi-threaded and distributed environments. Stay at the forefront of AI and machine learning techniques, identify appropriate algorithms and methods for implementation in SAS, and program these methods in C. Job duties include researching of deep learning algorithms; deep learning pipeline design; software design, programming and testing of modules; guiding junior developers; authoring user documentation and papers to communicate the best use of the software; presenting to professional audiences about the product; communicating with other SAS professional staff in Testing, Technical Support, Education, Marketing, and other departments; and performing other tasks as assigned.


Qualifications: Position requires a PhD Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related field. Alternately, position requires Master’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related field, and three (3) years of relevant industry experience. Position also requires knowledge or experience in computer vision, AI and machine learning; knowledge or experience in distributed and multi-threading programming in MPP environment; knowledge or experience in writing large, complex programs in C. Knowledge or experience may be gained concurrently during a graduate degree curriculum.
