JMP is an independent R&D division of SAS with a 30-year history of providing interactive, graphical, statistical discovery software to the engineering and scientific communities. Our customers are often the leaders in their fields, and your work will help them make important new discoveries.


What you’ll do:


In this role, you will work as a Software Developer within our JMP division. Initially you will help with product licensing, helping to make the product activation and licensing process simple and secure for our customers.  This involves both desktop and web-based front-end and back-end work, spanning a variety of technologies.  You will also aid in the development of JMP’s data access capabilities and help with other JMP desktop development tasks as needed. 


We are using modern technologies to create JMP, so use your skills with C++, Perl, JavaScript, SQL and PHP to advance our product.  You will work in the Linux, MacOS and Windows environments.


What we’re looking for:


  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Computer Science or related quantitative field
  • General knowledge of software engineering tools, methodologies, and principles
  • 5+ years’ experience with scripting in  JavaScript (ES2016 or later), Perl, or Python
  • 2+ years’ experience with an object-oriented language like Java, C++, or C#
  • Experience developing and debugging client/server applications
  • Strong interpersonal, documentation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think analytically and effectively communicate issues and solution
  • Work location: Cary, NC


 The nice to haves:


  • Experience with modern C++, for instance C++ 14
  • Experience with multiple operating systems, particularly Windows, MacOS and Linux
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools, like Jira
  • Some knowledge of authentication and software security
  • Some knowledge of statistics
