What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Sr Software Developer to work on a team delivering highly scalable, real-time event streaming ingestion and processing services. In this role, you will provide technical leadership to design, develop, support, and maintain cloud-native applications. You will also mentor Software Developers earlier in their career. In addition, you will design and develop high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.

You will also participate in project scoping and scheduling and maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.


What we’re looking for

4+ years Java experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field

Experience building and maintaining web environments on AWS, which includes working with services like Cloudformation, ECR/ECS, S3, SQS, ElastiCache or DynamoDB

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, debugging and test skills

Experience with software development processes, including version control, documentation, code review, and testing

Experience in troubleshooting distributed systems


The nice to haves

Experience with Linux operating systems

Experience with Kafka

Experience using DevOps tools in a cloud environment, such as Ansible, Docker, GitHub and Jenkins

Experience using monitoring solutions like CloudWatch, DataDog, and Prometheus


Other knowledge, skills, and abilities

Experience solving problems with little to no guidance.

Influence the design and testability of software by promoting good software practices.

Strong interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills

Ability to think analytically and effectively communicate issues and solutions

Ability to work independently and within a team
