What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Principal Industry Consultant for in government health care IT system architecture, primarily focused on Medicaid Enterprise Systems modular solutions delivering analytics, reporting, data warehousing and program integrity.  This is a high-level position that will serve as the lead in architecting large-scale, enterprise solutions for customers.

 

You will act as a subject matter expert, providing business and technical support for pre-sales activities as part of a team of other subject-matter experts across government and health care programs in the areas of fraud and program integrity, data warehousing and enterprise analytics.  This team serves as primary support for opportunities in North America within those business areas, and secondary support for opportunities around the world.

 

This is hands on work, involving travel to work directly with customers from the line level to top executives and elected officials during pre-sales activities and during project implementation.  As an expert in your field, you may also speak at conferences and be called upon to write blogs and white papers. 

 

You will be expected to develop an understanding of SAS analytic platforms and solutions supported by the Security Intelligence division, and how they can solve customer issues of effective health care delivery, fraud and program integrity through the applied use of analytics, data management and business intelligence. 

 

This team supports a broad range of programs in dealing with their challenges, including customer work within Medicare/Medicaid and other government benefits programs (e.g. SNAP, TANF, WIC), taxation, unemployment insurance, worker’s compensation, procurement, audit and/or oversight of general government programs, and more.  We are seeking a person with experience and passion with direct experience working with these types of customers and one who will complement the opportunities we are pursuing as well as the broader skill sets of the team. 

 

You will:

 

  • Develop and validate a solution architecture for complex opportunities to include: (a) overall solution architecture, including logical and physical architecture diagrams, (b) infrastructure architecture, including on-premise, SAS cloud, and public cloud environments, storage, and networking (c) data architecture, including logical and physical data models, and (d) business architecture including end-to-end business value and strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of external security standards, including NIST, HIPAA, FedRAMP, HITRUST, GDPR, FCRA, and IRS Publication 1075.
  • Monitor competing technology and roadmaps, understands SAS’ strengths and weaknesses in the market, and applies this information in written proposals and client demonstrations.
  • Lead client workshops, support written proposal development and subsequent orals presentations, as well as support contract negotiations.
  • Work with account executives to craft and deliver client presentations and key capability demonstrations.
  • Support the development of marketing materials and SAS sales training
  • Demonstrate SAS' experience and leadership through authoring publications, speaking at industry events, participating in work groups and being active in social media channels
  • Engage with various levels of government officials to impact policy and promote risk and fraud detection and prevention efforts and projects
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to customers and SAS implementation staff or partners during solution implementations.

What we’re looking for

  • Seven (7) years or more of experience with Medicaid programs in designing and delivering large scale technology systems and solutions such as analytic and data reporting platforms or Enterprise Data Warehouses
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Business or related fields
  • Experience responding to Requests for Proposal (RFP’s) and other forms of government procurements to include (a) developing win themes, (b) writing content, (c) conducting structured reviews, and (d) participating in orals presentations and technical demos.
  • Experience presenting complex ideas and concepts to department/agency heads or senior government executives
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work and learn independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require (avg. 30+%)
  • Location: Remote, home-based within continental U.S.

  • Experience in evaluating requirements and delivering fraud, waste and abuse systems and solutions for government health care programs
