JMP, a division of SAS, is seeking an energetic and motivated Digital Operations Project Manager who will partner with various stakeholders to deliver systems and processes that improve operational efficiency to help drive continued growth of the business.  This will involve defining business, and technical requirements for a variety of projects as well as an understanding of how systems and processes fit together across the division.  You will consistently balance meeting short-term business needs with achieving long-term strategic goals related to the continued digitization of JMP’s business. To succeed in this role, you must be able to lead and manage effectively across multiple teams as well as develop partnerships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors and implementation partners. The ability to communicate effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively are critical to success.

 

What you’ll do

  • Partner with JMP leadership and business representatives to establish a holistic roadmap for JMP systems and processes that results in improved efficiency, less redundancy, and better data quality. 
  • Work with JMP team members to break that roadmap down into a series of projects.  In cooperation with the Director of Digital Operations and other leadership, maintain a living roadmap based on evolving business priorities and a changing technology landscape. 
  • Manage multiple digital projects including technology replacements, integrations, custom development and as needed, improvements to the existing systems.  Accountable for attainment of overall project goals while managing scope and stakeholder expectations. 
  • Establish a budget & delivery schedule, based on project requirements and in consultation with stakeholders and team members. 
  • Determine resource needs and coordinate requests for personnel, tools/technologies and other resources. 
  • Maintain project documentation including updates to the project portfolio, plans, schedules & status reports.  Communicate project details regularly to stakeholders & leadership.  Lead presentations related to projects, as requested. 
  • Use appropriate interpersonal styles & communication methods to work effectively with project stakeholders & technical teams.  This includes defining & meeting mutual goals, objectives and implementation strategies as well as effective negotiation of project issues related to risk, cost, time & deliverables. 
  • Also, act as a project management resource for various cross-divisional projects that may fall outside the scope of the digitization initiative for JMP. 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Stay abreast of project management best practices. 
  • Track and understand market trends, including industry, competitive, and technology trends. 
  • As necessary, manage aspects of the project in an Agile fashion using approaches such as standups, backlog grooming, retrospectives, etc.   
  • Provide business solution consulting & business analysis skills, as needed, on technology projects. 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, or related discipline. 
  • Requires a minimum of five years of related project/program/product management or consulting experience. 
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements above.

The nice to haves

  • Global business perspective.  Previous experience working with global teams is a plus. 
  • Background in product management or consulting is a plus. 
  • Previous experience on business process transformation projects is a plus.
  • PMP certification is a plus.

 

Other knowledge, skills, and abilities

 

  • Experience leading large, complex projects in either a project or program management role.
  • Experience leading teams, managing business relationships, and presenting to executives. 
  • Excellent organization, planning and communication skills. 
  • Ability to conceptualize stakeholder needs and translate them into implementation strategies. 
  • Resolves problems with minimal management assistance; escalates appropriately. 
  • Strong negotiation, facilitation, and presentation skills
