Advises Life Sciences clients and sales teams to drive revenue, increase profit margin, and ensure the highest levels of client satisfaction. Develops and enhances personal and team member skills primarily for the benefit of the pre-sales process. Possesses knowledge or experiences in some combination of the following: predictive analytics, machine learning, knowledge discovery in databases, optimization, statistical theory, experimentation and/or time series analysis.  Able to manipulate voluminous data with different degree of structuring across disparate sources to generate and communicate actionable insights for internal or external parties. Possesses a strong knowledge of cloud, data science, and technology from SAS or open-source platforms.

Description:

 

Collaborates across the organization to prepare and manipulate structured and unstructured data for data discovery and mining from multiple disparate resources.

 

Builds high-end analytic models, utilizing supervised and unsupervised learning models, to support decision makers with data driven insights that address immediate business problems and objectives.

 

Creates informative visualizations that intuitively display large amounts of data and/or complex relationships; translates data analytics into coherent reports and presentations for internal and external customer with varying degrees of technical knowledge.

 

Prototypes solutions using varied resources, including SAS and open source software.

 

Builds trusted relationships with Account Executives and clients to provide practical and theoretical guidance in the business value of proposed solutions and set proper expectations to ensure customer satisfaction

 

Conducts discovery meetings to collect, analyze, clarify, and document business requirements during the sales cycle to support the implementation team and produce a detailed solution proposal

 

Delivers standard, customized and/or strategic solution demonstrations, whiteboarding, and presentations outlining the functional capabilities, competitive advantages, and business benefits of the SAS solutions as they apply to client needs

 

Leads subject matter expertise in the response to RFI/RFPs including defining solutions, technical writing, demonstrations, and client presentations

 

Participates in product and solution training to acquire and maintain a detailed level of product knowledge of core components of SAS offerings and assigned solution areas, how each solution addresses business challenges, competitive information to identify how SAS solutions stand apart, and what challenges/limitations may be encountered

 

Understands, utilizes, and communicates best practice methodologies internally and externally

 

Works proactively with Industry Consultants, Technical Architects, R&D, Tech Support, and other Solutions Architects to strategize on opportunities, cross-training, and knowledge transfer

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • 5+ years of experience manipulating data sets and building analytical models
  • Expert level knowledge of at least one statistical language (R, Python, SAS, etc)
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts: regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of applied statistics, probability, data modeling techniques, predictive modeling techniques and in-sample and out-of-sample model assessment.
  • Travel as needed up to 25%

 

Preferences:

 

    • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Analytics, or related field
    • Business domain expertise in healthcare or life sciences
