What you’ll do 

We’re looking for a Software Developer to join our Fraud & Security Intelligence team.  This opportunity allows you to bring your development skills to a group focused on developing the user interface of the SAS Anti-Money Laundering and related Fraud & Security Intelligence products. 


As a team member, you will mentor and coach highly motivated junior developers who share your passions for user interface development and for delivering excellent software. 


You will: 

  • Design and develop high quality, testable, and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes
  • Assist with scoping, planning, and tracking work on complex software development projects in a continuous delivery environment
  • Lead discussion of technical and design issues with other developers, managers, product owners, and user interface and visual designers to ensure implementations satisfy functional requirements and are consistent with established R&D standards
  • Review the work outputs of other developers to ensure integrity and cross-product consistency
  • Ensure quality through automated functional, unit, and performance testing
  • Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of product code including support for both internal and external consumers
  • Track and fix bugs
  • Mentor and coach junior developers

What we’re looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Five or more years of experience developing web applications
  • Experience with full-stack development
  • Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with RESTful APIs
  • Experience working in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery environment
  • Experience with containerization technologies
  • Experience with user interface test automation tools 
  • Experience with Bash and Windows shell scripting
  • Experience as a technical project leader
  • Experience coaching and mentoring junior developers

 The nice to haves: 

  • Experience with Jira project management software
  • Familiarity with relational database management systems
  • Familiarity with Git and Gerrit
  • Familiarity with SAS Visual Investigator
