What you’ll do

As a ServiceNow Architect for the Cloud and Information Services Division at SAS, you will use your ServiceNow knowledge and experience to be the technical lead for the ServiceNow team of platform developers.  You will work alongside the Business Analysts, Platform Owner, Demand Managers, and Senior Leaders to offer architectural guidance to  ensure robust, scalable, technical solutions are being architected and developed.  You will ensure the platform development team, business unit developers, and citizen developers are following best practices to ensure enterprise class solutions are delivered.   Depending on the project, you will be developing alongside the platform team and will be involved in their day-to-day operations.

You will:

  • Define, guide, and support the execution of ServiceNow technical governance.
  • Develop standards and best practices for maintaining the ServiceNow architecture.
  • Support design and implementation of a platform operating model.
  • Provide technical evaluation of demands against ServiceNow platform architecture and capabilities.
  • Offer guidance on prototyping and accelerating time from design to deployment.
  • Work closely with the Business to manage processes end-to-end.
  • Advise on configuration and coding standards.
  • Conduct technical analysis on the ServiceNow applications and modules.
  • Perform ServiceNow configuration and development compliant with best practices.
  • Create and manage ServiceNow documentation.
  • Work with platform admins to resolve issues.
  • Create or manage ServiceNow reports and dashboards.
  • Provide functional expertise; act as product advocate to lead implementation of ITIL processes within ServiceNow platform.
  • Instruct, assign, and review the work of other team members, including the review of high-level designs, detail designs, code, and test plans and results.
  • Provide consultation services to projects across the enterprise as the subject matter expert representing the capabilities of the ServiceNow Platform and the use of the data within the platform.
  • Mentor and coach other team members and facilitate individual team member development of technical, functional, and industry skills.

 

 

What we’re looking for

  • You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong technical knowledge in the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Cloud application technology experience.
  • Enterprise architecture experience.
  • Led large complex programs for ServiceNow Implementations (ITSM/ITBM/ITOM, etc) using agile methodology.
  • At least 12+ years of Information Technology experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years overall experience in implementing ITIL, Enterprise Service Management, Asset and Configuration Management with at least 6 years of ServiceNow experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with SOAP, WSDL, REST, JavaScript, XML, HTML, PowerShell, AngularJS, LDAP, MS AD.
  • Must have technical experience designing and building applications that meet business goals and objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to describe technical solutions in the terms of the business.
  • Experience with leading geographically separated customers and onshore/offshore teams.
  • Flexibility to work with a variety of personalities and styles.
  • Must be a self-starter and keen to explore new solutions.
  • Highly motivated to work on large and complex systems.

 

 

The nice to haves  

  • ITIL v3/v4 certification
  • ServiceNow system administration/Development/Implementation/Architecture Certifications.
  • Experience with successful implementation of ITOM, CSM, IRM, PPM, and/or Asset Management.
  • Familiar with Performance Analytics and external reporting tools (i.e., Power BI).
