The mission of the DevOps Pipeline Operations Team is to provide an end-to-end framework to operate a thorough set of automated tests in a stable, secure environment that can be relied on to establish a ground truth as to the current state of SAS Software, so that developers and testers can understand defects and other software deviations faster, for the purpose of enabling R&D to envision, create, and deliver the next generation of superior analytics products for our customers.

The DevOps Pipeline Operations team will provide SAS with a functional, reliable, recoverable, highly visible CI/CD Pipeline for Viya 4.X through the continuous improvement of infrastructure, provisioning, pipeline services, and monitoring.  We provide "pipeline as a product" operations for all of SAS. 

You Will:

• Design, implement, and maintain an efficient continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline
• Operate in an innovative and fast paced environment
• Seek to grow and learn
• Migrate existing solutions to K8S and cloud
• Learn new technologies - argocd, terraform, crossplane, github actions, jenkins
• Drive to help others
• SRE mindset to design, implement, support internal products and processes

Primary Responsibilities:

• Continuous improvement and support of existing service offerings

• Develop, leverage, and discover opportunities for automation
• Support life cycle management processes
• Determine new technology needs, including researching, evaluation, and cost analysis
• Leverage technologies such as Kubernetes to simplify support of the environment
• Interface with other SAS groups and departments to enhance the environment or resolve pending issues
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, or performance problems
• Automate tasks with medium complexity or multiple handoffs
• Develop step-by-step documentation for system support tasks
• Pivot between development and operations work

Qualifications:

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related quantitative field or related experience
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• Experience or interest in pursuing the following:
  • Logging and monitoring tools (prometheus, grafana, EFS, OTEL) and alerting
  • Heterogeneous, dynamic, customer-focused environment
  • Microsoft Azure administration and deployments
  • Kubernetes (and vendor specific releases of K8S)
  • Virtualization technologies - VMWare
  • Cloud providers (Azure, AWS, Google)
  • Infrastructure architecture including Servers, Network, SAN/Storage and Backup Services to allow for efficient implementation and non-disruptive expansion and upgrades
  • Scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ansible, etc.)
  • JIRA or a similar issue tracking software  
  • Version control
  • Developing automated solutions
  • Infrastructure as Code
  • Design and configuration of deployment tools
  • Containerization and K8S

Nice to Have's

• Collaborative team experience with superior problem-solving skills
• Ability to triage requests with multiple admin resource groups
• Understanding best practices around information security and data privacy in relation to system access and availability
• Understanding best practices around CI/CD environments
• Ability to effectively communicate with peers and management
