What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Sr Data Success Manager to manage our data and analytic work intake and prioritization process. Our projects range from supporting our ongoing Data DevOps Sprints, to department wide initiatives, to cross departmental and divisional initiatives. You will be responsible for all aspects of work intake in an Agile environment: monitoring the project from initiation through delivery while ensuring proper consistency with SAS’ overall strategy, commitments, and goals. You must be an articulate, influential, and decisive leader that is passionate about data.  Interacting with various lines of business and at all levels within SAS will be required.


You will:

  • Manage the backlog of D&A data product requests. Negotiate priorities and expectations with internal business customers.
  • Manage deadline-driven, team-oriented projects, along with agreed scope and customer expectations.
  • Responsible for attainment of overall project requirements and goals.
  • Establish a project plan based on requirements and scope in consultation with stakeholders and project team members.
  • Initiate and track project delivery including updates to Project/Portfolio Management systems, plans, schedules, and status reports.
  • Communicate project status to business stakeholders and department management. Provide presentations on projects (e.g., kick-off, scope, deliverables, and schedule) as requested.
  • Use data to prepare reports to track progress and dependencies, and when needed, assess risks and implement risk mitigation strategies, keeping in mind project objectives and success criteria.
  • Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners (e.g., peers, functional partners, cross-sector partners, matrixed partners, external vendors, etc.) to meet mutual goals and objectives.


What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of experience as a developer, data engineer, or business analyst.
  • 3+ years of project and/or program management experience with data, analytics, or IT system implementations.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and gaining consensus.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

The Nice to haves

  • Agile certification, such as PMI-Agile Certified Professional (ACP), Agile Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or Safe Scrum Master
  • Experience with Service Now, Jira and Confluence.
  • Project Management Certification from PMI.


Other knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems; self-starting; strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Generally accepted project management tool set (i.e., MS Office Suite).
