The IoT Division at SAS is a vertically integrated line of business charged with innovation: innovation in products and solutions and innovation around market engagement.  We encompass R&D, Product Management, Industry Advisory and Product Marketing.  

We are looking for a curious and innovative candidate who believes that AI can make a real difference for IoT applicants.  Within the IoT Division, we are developing a brand new paradigm in delivering IoT applications.

As an intern, you might: 

• Develop IoT application proof of concept using SAS Application framework and AI capabilities
• Investigate competing or comparable market technologies to understand our strengths and weaknesses
• Document best practices for fast prototyping of Machine learning based applications
• Develop packaging and operational capabilities for real-life implementations of IoT Applications
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Industry advisory teams

Required Qualifications 

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science
• Experience with full stack development, Go language, JavaScript for UI development using React framework, PostgreSQL databases, or similar technologies
• Familiarity with containers and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• You’re a college student enrolled in an accredited program, not graduating prior to December 2024
• You’ve got practical experience inside or outside of school or work. Maybe you have worked on your school’s helpdesk and now want to take that learning further. We’d love to hear about it!
• You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
• You’re interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology.  

Preferred Qualifications 

• Familiarity with cloud Infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Knowledge of App development frameworks for ML such as Streamlit, Shiny
• DevOps understanding

Internship dates: May 14, 2024 – August 2, 2024. We can be flexible on start date if your university is on a quarter system.  Internships last 12 weeks in total length.

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 – $31 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master’s/Ph. D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
