About the job  

 

The Education Practice is looking for a Sr. Account Executive who will be focused on selling innovative data analytics and reporting solutions to the Local and State Education Agencies and Higher Education clients in the Northeast territory. In this role, you will be responsible for the expansion of SAS software products, solutions, and services in a high-volume, multi-tasking environment to prospective and current education accounts in CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, PA, RI, and VT. 

 

We’re seeking candidates passionate about improving public education through better data-driven insights. The successful candidate will have advanced skills and high-level experience in building relationships and communicating well with state and local education agencies and higher education officials to solve complex, big-data analytics problems. You'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in your accounts, supporting solutions and implementations that make a difference for administrators, educators, students, parents, and policymakers.

 

 

As a Sr. Account Executive, you will:  

  • Sell education software, solutions, and services to current and prospective customers in various subject matter areas; work with other sales support to position and leverage sales opportunities to acquire, grow and retain customers within assigned territory.
  • Manage a broad base of existing customers focused on superior customer service and customer retention. 
  • Fulfill a wide range of requests for information from prospective customers.
  • Produce strategic account plans to qualify the level of opportunity and type of account.
  • Prospect within a territory or account to uncover education, policy, and business needs.
  • Implement aspects of territory and account management and development; identify accounts with high "close" potential, qualify, and forecast time frames to close business.
  • Work closely with implementation managers and executives to facilitate timely response to highly qualified, high-revenue potential leads.
  • Prepare quotations and proposals; work with other departments to create and finalize contracts and schedule services.
  • Track K12 and Higher Education policy, regulations, legislation, and budgets in the territory.
  • Attend education events, board meetings, and project meetings in the assigned territory.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Must live in the Northeast or based at headquarters in Cary, NC
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience working in a school district, State Department of Education, or Higher Education Institution *OR* serving K-12/Higher Education in a business capacity
  • Ability to travel as business needs require, which may be up to 50%

The base salary range for this position is $134,788 USD - $164,741 USD per year and is a good faith estimate only.  The range does not include any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  Actual pay will vary depending on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  Pay is just one component of SAS’s total compensation package for employees. Employees may also be eligible for commission or discretionary bonus (based on company and individual performance) as determined by the role.
