About the job

The Solutions Product Team is looking for a contract Software Engineer to perform experiments with new technology and potentially productionize new solutions related to Data Management in the AI and Data space.  These efforts are expected to last approximately 6 months with the opportunity to extend if the proof of concepts executed deliver successful results.  Our team is responsible for delivering Data and AI business solutions to industries around the world.  The work done in this role has the potential to have a dramatic impact on the direction of our solutions. 

 

As a Software Engineer, you will:

  • Working extensively with Apache Iceberg, SQL, Generative AI, and potentially Java and/or Python to perform feasibility studies and performance analysis.
  • Architect and develop Enterprise level software quickly and with quality.
  • Perform Proof of Concepts to validate design approach compatibility across industries.
  • Provide documentation around design approach and experiment outcomes.
  • Provide regular status on progress and communicate issues and risks to the project. 

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of development experience in Apache Iceberg.
  • 5+ years of development experience in Java, Python, and SQL.
  • 1+ year of development experience with Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, RAG Architectures, etc
  • Ability to create technical documentation and presentations to communicate architectural and design approach.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
