About the job

 

SAS Institute is pleased to announce the posting of a Global Academic Program Manager position, to be filled as soon as possible. The Global Academic Program Manager will be responsible for establishing and fostering relationships with higher education stakeholders (e.g. faculty members, students, administrators) in the U.S.to maximize the use of SAS software in teaching and learning. The focus is on the adoption of SAS in curriculum to support development of SAS users of the future and connecting programs using SAS software to customers for employment.   

 

As a Global Academic Program Manager, you will:

 

  • Have responsibility for a territory within the US where you will develop relationships and alliances with institutions and organizations in the Higher Education/Academic industry to grow SAS usage in academia. 
  • Maintain knowledge of new versions of SAS software and SAS Global Academic Program offerings and advise academics on use.  
  • Deliver presentations on SAS software capabilities and academic programs resources and initiatives.  Audiences may include groups of students and/or faculty and university administrators including department chairs and deans. 
  • Work with post-secondary institutions to establish courses in key business areas aligned with SAS technology and strategy. 
  • Stay informed on the higher education and data and AI market, including SAS’ competitors at universities, and adapt engagement strategies accordingly.  
  • Build connections between educational institutions and SAS customers seeking to hire early-career talent with SAS skill. 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelors required.   
  • Minimum of five years of experience within or adjacent to higher education.  
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information.  
  • Conversant in a variety of topics directly related to higher education and familiar with the US higher education system. 
  • Familiarity with analytical software, preferably SAS, and an ability to quickly upskill. 
  • Basic understanding of statistics and analytical methods, sufficient for curriculum conversations. 
  • Strong ability to cultivate and grow customer relationships.  You feel energized by meeting and engaging with new contacts. 
  • Experience with course and curriculum development and design. 
  • This position requires occasional travel to conferences and university campuses. Anticipated travel is < 5%.

 Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Master’s degree or higher preferred because of the relevance of the experience to the work of the Academic Program.  
  • Strong working knowledge of or proficiency in SAS software, including Viya.
