About the job 

The Platform Data Interfaces team in the Platform Services division is looking for a Software DeveloperThis team is responsible for building and maintaining the access layer for the application storage solutions in the SAS Viya Platform using Golang and other technologies as requiredAs a member of this team you will help to maintain and improve the use of these technologies in our platform, adhere to SLAs and security compliance needs, and develop new solutions for data storage and access within the system. 

 

As a Software Developer, you will: 

  • Code per specifications and standards. 
  • Collaborate with teammates to solve problems. 
  • Ensure quality by creating and supporting automated tests with extensive code coverage. 
  • Evolve software architecture to meet changes in requirements. 
  • Scope requirements and estimate effort. 
  • Stay informed of emerging technologies and use them appropriately. 
  • Support internal and external customers. 
  • Write documentation. 

Required qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field 
  • 5+ years of experience as a developer on large software projects 
  • Experience writing Golang 
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle DB 
  • Experience using GitHub for source management 
  • Experience with integration, regression, and unit testing 
  • Experience using Agile development practices 
  • Experience operating in a CI/CD environment 
  • Experience developing applications in Kubernetes 
  • Familiarity with data-persistence code in cloud environments 
  • Familiar with various cloud environments and concepts 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • DevOps and/or SRE experience 
  • Experience writing or modifying ORMs 
  • Experience working with network-connected databases 
  • Good understanding of software security 
  • Familiarity with network traffic profiling 
  • Familiarity with optimizing database access patterns 
  • Familiarity with Azure 
  • Familiarity with Docker 
  • Familiarity with Linux 
  • Familiarity with OpenShift
