About the job

 

The Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) Operations and Strategy Advisor provides strategic consulting and operations oversight for SAS Medicaid Enterprise Systems customers.  This position collaborates with cross functional teams (Sales, Marketing, R&D) to support robust, stable and responsive Medicaid solutions sales strategy, implementation and production operations to ensure high quality and measurable business value for Medicaid customers. The position uses domain expertise to align SAS solutions to State Medicaid program strategic goals, desired policy and business outcomes, and performs business development activities to achieve revenue targets, account renewal and expansion opportunities.


The successful candidate will have advanced skills and high-level experience in building consulting services, outcomes, analytics, and/or information technology, and can communicate well to Medicaid agencies to assist in their efforts to solve complex big data analytics problems with MES modernization.

 

Location: Cary, NC Headquarters or Southeastern US remote, preferred

 

As a Principal Industry Consultant, Medicaid Operations and Strategy, you will:

  • Provide industry/business domain knowledge for sales strategy and opportunity support through knowledge of market, SAS solutions, customer engagement and procurement activities. Support customer activities for full life cycle of sales, renewals and expansion opportunities.
  • Build SAS credibility through trusted relationships with customers including strategic high-level influencers, policymakers, decision-makers, operational management, and end
  • Lead customer engagement activities and oversight of contract management deliverables with an emphasis on SAS’ continued alignment with the Medicaid agencies’ strategic direction in assigned territories.
  • Provide regular and recurring on-site engagement to all levels of the customer base as needed.
  • Provide comprehensive business operations support for Medicaid solution implementations including stable and reliable system environment, user engagement and administration, continuous improvements, and outcomes and benefit realization.
  • Assist delivery team and customer in tactical and strategic issue resolution
  • Provide strategic consultation for new and expanding customer initiatives with short, medium, and long-range roadmaps and account strategies.
  • Identify, maintain, and provide support and strategic guidance to the SAS sales organization leadership to develop account renewal and expansion opportunities and new account penetration strategies.
  • Prepare and delivers presentations to clients at the highest levels of management and decision-making. 
  • Support procurement processes including responses to RFX’s, oral presentations, contract negotiations, scope of work, project management planning and other relevant areas as needed.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

 Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree, preferably in Public Administration, Business, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Analytics, or related discipline. Masters, Graduate or Doctorate degrees are considerable plus.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience working in health care, specifically Medicaid policy, with advanced analytics experience and experience facilitating large government programs with multi-agency coordination.
  • Experience presenting to government leaders and/or elected officials.
  • Excellent analytical and creative critical thinking skills.
  • Strong project management and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to understand and translate complex technical and business information to internal/external audiences with varying depths of knowledge regarding technology and public policy.
  • Ability to relate current industry issues and trends to SAS offerings
  • Experience in Medicaid policies and procedures and working within a State Health Agency is a plus.
