The Customer Communications functions supports a wide range of customer-facing divisions at SAS, helping the organization better inform and engage with users and administrators throughout the customer lifecycle. This function resides within the Communications team at SAS, which includes core outreach functions at SAS such as social media, media relations, internal communication, external communications and thought leadership.  

 

As an intern, you might be: 

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of SAS subject matter experts to execute a content strategy for post-sale adoption and retention content targeted at the SAS customer base. 
  • Use Generative AI tools to create high-quality content templates that guide content owners in producing new material aligned with the content strategy. 
  • Assist in the creation and management of user information, including posts, videos, tutorials, and other documentation that helps SAS users with deployment and adoption tasks. 
  • Collaborate with communications team members to extend an existing Generative AI strategy to allow for increased use across the department. 
  • Work closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and relevance. 
  • Train a Generative AI tool to write SAS customer stories using existing source material 
  • Use Generative AI to take cornerstone or foundational content and break it into digestible pieces, including blogs, infographics and other content. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Students currently pursuing an Master's degree or Phd in Communications, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or related field
  • Work Hours: Available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time hours during the summer of 2025.

  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
  • You’re interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology.
  • You’re a college student enrolled in an accredited program, not graduating prior to December 2025.

 

Preferrred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with prompt engineering in Generative AI tools preferred. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Familiarity with enterprise software and its deployment processes is a plus. 

 

Internship dates: This is a year-round internship position that will start in January 2025 and continue on through the summer working full-time.

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 – $31 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master’s/Ph. D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
