About the job

The SAS Health Care Center (HCC) is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team! Since 1984, the HCC has proudly delivered the highest quality healthcare, whether managing complex chronic conditions, treating acute illnesses or injuries, or administering routine immunizations. And because we are a family practice, we care for all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics. This is an excellent environment in which you can develop strong patient relationships, and provide high quality, compassionate care alongside a team of amazing health care professionals. In this role, you will, teach and counsel patients; as well as plan, implement, direct and evaluate nursing care.

Our Registered Nurses play a vital role in creating a welcoming and caring environment at the SAS Health Care Center. Each day, you will engage with patients and build meaningful relationships through:

• Checking in patients, obtaining vitals and preparing them for their visits, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued from the moment they enter.
• Assisting with medical procedures and patient exams with a compassionate touch, from suturing to biopsies, always prioritizing patient comfort.
• Providing routine care, such as administering injections, tending to wounds, and offering first aid, with kindness and professionalism.
• Offering evidence-based advice over the phone, ensuring that even remote interactions are supportive and informative.
• Managing prescription refills efficiently and per Health Care Center guidelines.
• Making referrals to community specialists, and guiding patients through every step of their care journey.
• And much more, always with the goal of delivering the highest quality, compassionate care and fostering a reassuring atmosphere for all our patients.

Required Qualifications 

• Diploma, Associate Degree (AD) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an NLN-accredited school of nursing. Current unrestricted North Carolina license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Typically requires six years of experience as a registered nurse, to include two years of experience in a primary care office setting.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements stated above.

Preferred Qualifications - Great to Have

• Excellent knowledge of routine nursing procedures in a primary care office setting; previous experience or passion for Family Practice is a plus
• Excellent nursing skills, including history taking and triage
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Professional appearance and the ability to provide a comfortable and reassuring atmosphere for patients
