About the job
The Office of Public Readiness and Corporate Planning seeks a candidate to lead, develop, and execute corporate development projects, with a focus on in-licensing partnerships. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in corporate development, management consulting, investment banking, and/or partnership/business development. The candidate must have extremely strong analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills. They must also have the ability to simultaneously manage multiple cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.
As a Senior Corporate Planning & Development Specialist you will:
- Regularly evaluate the value of existing in-licensing agreements against predefined objectives and metrics.
- Monitor compliance with agreement terms by tracking technology usage and product integration.
- Maintain a centralized, high-visibility database of business justifications across all partnerships.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to analyze market trends, data, and opportunities, supporting the enhancement of SAS’ portfolio through in-licensing.
- Conduct intake and screening for potential in-licensing agreements, including engaging with stakeholders to assess needs and define business terms.
- Manage a diverse range of high-level strategic projects, including programs focused on reviewing business and product performance.
- Drive comprehensive financial analyses, such as valuation studies and “build vs. buy vs. partner” assessments.
- Collaborate with business operations and other business units to consolidate data and measure performance against corporate goals.
- Assess the impact and overall success of partnerships and transactions to inform future strategy.
- Exercise significant autonomy in defining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
- Ensures all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.
Location: Cary, NC Headquarters or East Coast US
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of related experience in a business environment, including experience in corporate development, product management, marketing, and/or business analysis within a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
- Experience defining, completing, and presenting business cases, financial models, marketing/alliance plans, licensing agreements, market requirements documents, and/or product portfolio assessments to an executive audience.
- Ability to create, articulate, communicate, and document partnership valuation to a diverse group of constituents.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Very strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Very strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
- Very strong written, verbal and visual communication skills; proven ability to effectively present to senior management
- Ability to lead corporate-level strategic projects -- working independently and as part of a team.
- An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

- Significant experience within the technology sector (ideally in enterprise software).
