About the job

The Internal Audit team is looking for a Senior Associate Internal Auditor to lead and support SOX compliance efforts at SAS Institute and related entities. We are actively working toward public company readiness and searching for an innovative self-starter to join our team.

 

As a Senior Associate Internal Auditor, you will: 

 

  • Support all phases of SOX compliance at SAS, including the risk assessment and scoping, testing, remediation, and reporting.
  • Identify, document, and evaluate our internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Author or update process flow documentation and risk and control matrices.
  • Develop and execute work programs to test the operational effectiveness of key controls. 
  • Identify and evaluate control deficiencies and recommend process improvements.
  • Support remediation efforts by monitoring corrective actions and ensuring timely resolution of audit findings
  • Serve as a liaison for our co-sourcing team, providing support, coordinating activities and ensuring alignment with internal policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders across Finance, IT, and other areas.
  • Educate business partners on internal controls, risk mitigation, and SOX compliance to enhance awareness and accountability.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and/or dashboards to summarize information.
  • Lead or support internal project management and administrative initiatives
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree or educational equivalent in accounting or related field.  CPA certification required or other recognized accountancy qualification. Typically requires two years of auditing experience, preferably with a large public accounting firm
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications
  • Good knowledge of GAAP and COSO framework
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and analytical tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and technical skills
  • Ethical judgement and professional skepticism

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Big Four Audit and/or Consulting
  • Proactive self-starter with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • AuditBoard and Oracle Fusion experience is a plus!
