About the job:

 

As a SLED (State and Local Government and Education) Account Executive, you will be building and leading SAS’ sales strategy in Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska government and education accounts. The Account Executive will work with State government and education leaders to identify and pursue opportunities where SAS’ portfolio of analytics and big data solutions can be aligned to key priorities, leveraging data to improve outcomes, operational efficiency and mission critical capabilities with unparalleled insights.

 

As a State and Local Government Account Executive, you will:  

  • Sell software, solutions and services to current and prospective customers in a variety of subject matter areas; works with other sales personnel to position and leverage sales opportunities to acquire, grow and retain customers within the assigned territory.
  • Manage a broad base of existing customers focusing on superior customer service and customer retention.
  • Fulfill a wide range of requests for information from prospective customers to qualify the level of opportunity and interest in the account.
  • Prospect within the territory and within individual accounts to uncover business needs.
  • Implement territory and account management strategies leading to revenue growth and development, focusing on accounts with high "close" potential, identifying and executing daily action items, and accurately forecasting time frames to close business.
  • Follow-up with customers to track satisfaction levels and to discover additional revenue opportunities.
  • Develop a basic understanding of SAS pricing and licensing procedures.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience working in Missouri State and Local Government, or selling software solutions to MO, KS, NE State and Local Government.
  • Experience with state procurement rules.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate account dynamics, develop a sales plan, and accurately forecast.
  • Effective and polished communicator capable of engaging audiences of varying levels, including C-level customers and elected officials
