About the job 

The Global Customer Advisory Team is looking for a Senior Pre-sales Solution Architect to demonstrate the value of SAS software and solutions to state/local government, and education leaders, data scientist and analysts, and IT staff throughout the state of Florida. Our team is passionate about using data to enhance the quality of life for all Floridians. As a Sr. Pre-sales Solution Architect, you will:  

  • Lead discovery meetings to collect, analyze, clarify and document business requirements during the sales cycle to produce a detailed solution proposal
  • Deliver standard, customized and/or strategic, senior level solution demonstrations and presentations outlining the functional capabilities, competitive advantages and business benefits of the SAS solutions as they apply to client needs
  • Assist in the response to RFI/RFP’s utilizing the RFP Repository and crafting thorough and compelling answers with a focus on domain and business value
  • Participate in, support and/or deliver customized Proof of Concepts
  • Work proactively with Systems Engineers, Technical Architects and other Solutions Architects to strategize on opportunities, cross-train, and transfer knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Statistics, Data Science, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Quantitative Social Science or related field
  • 8 years of technical sales, systems engineering, applications development, data analytics and reporting, and/or customer support
  • 8 years' experience working within teams to solve complex data and/or technical problems
  • Proven ability to effectively present to decision makers as well as technical system users
  • Proven knowledge of ETL, data management, server architecture, data analytics, and/or other key components of the analytics life cycle
  • Proven success in new technology adoption as it pertains to role
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications

  • Certifications in SAS or similar programming languages
