About the job

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to provide leadership in the development and improvement of accounting policy, operational process effectiveness, and the internal control environment related to the general ledger. The Senior Accountant will support the Record to Report team in the Americas Accounting Services Center including reconciliations, journal entries, and month end close with a focus on process development of accounting processes in the Americas region, reporting to the Manager, Accounting who is based in the United States. 

 

As a Senior Accountant, you will:

 

  • Maintain company journals and ledgers including entering, reviewing, and/or approving financial transactions in company financial systems. 
  • Perform reconciliations of company financial data, research variances, and adjust as needed. 
  • Develop streamlined accounting processes with a focus on Latin American countries to ensure compliance, completeness, accuracy and appropriate accounting methodology. 
  • Assist in developing controls and procedures related to IPO readiness with a focus on developing controls in Latin America  
  • Interprets and analyzes financial reports for organization management.  
  • Prepares financial reports for general management use. 
  • Assists with special projects as assigned. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 8 years accounting experience, preferably in a multi-national organization and/or Shared Services environment 
  • Education: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Analysis, or related field 
  • CPA certification preferred 
  • Ability to address or escalate issues within the Record to Report area 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes’ Oxley, risk and controls standards. 
  • Strong technology focus and financial systems and process improvement acumen. 
  • Ability to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong attention to details and ability to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to analyze data and make suggestions for adjustment or process improvements. 
  • Strong ERP experience essential, preferably Oracle
