Senior Unreal Engine Developer- Remote or Hybrid

Nice to meet you!

We’re a leader in data and AI. Through our software and services, we inspire customers around the world to transform data into intelligence - and questions into answers.

We’re also a debt-free multi-billion-dollar organization on our path to IPO-readiness. If you're looking for a dynamic, fulfilling career coupled with flexibility and world-class employee experience, you'll find it here.

About the job

The Games Analytics Team is looking for a Sr. Unreal Engine Developer to help us grow our new division at SAS, and prepare our projects for mature production and deployment pipelines. Come join us in our quest to unlock the power of video games engines for analytics and digital twins, build specialized tools and connectors for publishers and studios, and develop new lines of business across the industry!

As a Sr. Unreal Engine Developer, you will:

  • Lead the design and development of photorealistic digital twin environments using Unreal Engine 5, integrating real-time simulation and visualization of industrial systems, robotic fleets, and logistics operations. Ensure high visual fidelity, performance optimization, and interactive capabilities for enterprise-grade analytics platforms.
  • Collaborate with optimization experts, IoT engineers, and software architects to build immersive, data-driven experiences by connecting Unreal Engine visualizations with real-time telemetry, sensor inputs, and machine learning outputs from SAS analytics pipelines.
  • Develop and optimize custom Blueprints and C++ modules to support advanced simulation logic, physical system behaviors, and user interactions. Implement dynamic asset loading, level streaming, and runtime procedural generation for scalable digital twin scenarios.
  • Evaluate, integrate, and extend Unreal Engine plugins: both our own group’s SAS Connector, as well as existing third-party plugins needed for building our digital twin products.
  • Drive best practices in Unreal Engine pipeline management, version control (e.g., Plastic, Perforce), and cross-functional integration with cloud-based services, REST APIs, and digital twin orchestration layers. Mentor junior developers and contribute to long-term technical strategy for digital twin innovation within the enterprise.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of professional experience developing interactive 3D applications with Unreal Engine, including expert proficiency in Blueprints and C++, and experience with UE Server/Client and replication
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • Experience integrating external data sources or APIs (e.g., JSON, REST, WebSocket, or MQTT) into real-time applications, ideally for simulation or enterprise use cases.
  • Strong portfolio of real-time 3D or simulation projects, with demonstrable experience in photorealistic rendering, physics simulation, or complex user interaction design
  • You’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working at a AAA game studio, or directly in digital twins
  • Have experience leading a team of 5 or more application developers
  • Solid understanding of analytical and statistical tools (including optimization), particularly for ingesting and processing game event data
  • Knowledge of key SAS products (at least one of: CI360, Intelligent Decisioning, ESP)
  • Master’s degree in computer science, or a related field
