About the job   

The Global Customer Advisory team is looking for a Principal Solutions Advisor to drive the SAS solution strategy for Model Risk Management and AI Governance within its Risk, Fraud and Compliance division. The role has global responsibility for driving the vision, strategy and innovation within SAS solutions and providing industry-relevant thought leadership to a large customer base. The role will be to working closely with product management, industry consultants, pre-sales systems engineers, customers, and R&D to define solutions based on market needs and customer demands to continue the growth of our business.   

As a Principal Solutions Advisor, you will  

  • Forge strong, trusted relationships with customers by understanding their business and technical needs, and demonstrating how SAS solutions deliver value and ROI. 
  • Lead and support complex sales opportunities by aligning SAS capabilities with customer challenges and goals. 
  • Provide executive-level sales strategy and functional solution leadership throughout the sales cycle and customer lifecycle. 
  • Deliver impactful, tailored demonstrations and presentations that highlight SAS’s competitive advantages, business benefits, and alignment with client needs. 
  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of SAS products, market trends, industry challenges, and the competitive landscape to increase confidence in SAS solutions. 
  • Conduct discovery sessions to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with SAS solution capabilities. 
  • Support customer adoption and success by guiding implementation, providing best practices, and contributing to software rollouts and pilot projects. 
  • Participate in or lead the development and delivery of Proofs of Concept (PoCs), pilot engagements, analyst briefings, trade shows, and other field-facing events. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams such as Product Management, Customer Success, Technical Support, and Marketing to ensure cohesive customer engagement. 
  • Continuously develop and share best practices, contribute to internal knowledge bases, and provide coaching and mentorship to peers and customer teams. 
  • Contribute to sales proposals, publications, course materials, and product improvement initiatives based on field experience and feedback.

 

Work Location: Position is open to work at our Cary, NC Headquarters or The United Kingdom 

Required Qualifications 

  • 12 years of technical sales, systems engineering, project management, applications development and/or customer support experience.  
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Risk Management, Statistics, Data Science, Business, Computer Science, or related field.  
  • Demonstrated thought leader in a single domain or industry (publishes articles, leads demand generation activities, and speaking engagements in the business track at conferences/events).  
  • Strong facilitation and communications skills.  
  • Must have expert knowledge of SAS technology, architecture, and resources.  
  • Demonstrated understanding of sales strategies and cycles.  
  • Superior problem solving, organizational, decision-making written, oral and interpersonal skills. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Travel as business requirements dictate at management discretion.   
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
