About the job
The Global Services Procurement Team is looking for a Procurement Analyst (Emerging Careers) to source, negotiate, and contract for global goods and services.
This role will support one or more of the following indirect categories:
- Finance
- Marketing/ Sales
- HR/ Benefits
- Professional Services (including Consulting and Staff Augmentation)
- Research and Development
- Legal / Risk
- Potential to support other categories depending on business needs.
As a Procurement Analyst (Emerging Careers), you will:
- Manage all aspects of the sourcing process for the organization.
- Builds and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
- Identifies, collects, and analyzes quantitative and qualitative data to support procurement decisions.
- Monitors and reports performance of contractual agreements and / or projects.
- Builds value into business processes through the principles of supply management.
- Procures non-standard goods and services for SAS US as well as for international locations.
- Designs, builds and maintains databases for monitoring and administration of contractual agreements such as minimum spend.
- Assists in monitoring and analyzing usage of corporate resources.
- Researches and analyzes effective sourcing strategies and develops relationships with best of breed suppliers.
- Monitors supplier performance and reports to stakeholders on compliance with quality and contractual criteria; escalate issues within supplier organization, and if necessary, within SAS.
- Determines total costs for various business options; works with appropriate personnel to analyze alternatives from a financial perspective
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, supply management, international business, marketing, finance or related field.
- Typically requires experience in procurement, supply chain management and/or contract administration.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Knowledge of basic financial analysis concepts
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements above.
